The Pearlies 4pm Assteroid 5pm Assteroid is the love child of songwriter and front-woman Penny Walker-Keefe. Her anecdotal, catchy songs are fleshed out by the grungy four-piece band, who first hit the state in 2022. The EP includes two singles released in 2024; the guitar-pop tune Butterfly Hair Clip, and the rocking ode to petrol heads, Hyundai Excel. Songs about driving, relationships, spaceships, and living the creative life sit along a delicious spectrum of alt, rock and indie flavours. The EP ends with a dose of Y2K nostalgia with a cover of All Saints’ pop classic, Pure Shores. Producer Alex Brittan skilfully recorded the band during 2023 and polished up the songs to make a beautifully curated indie EP, that effortlessly flows from one vibe to the next. Assteroid cannot wait to share it with you.
