FREE ENTRY - 8PM The Brakes play good Rock ‘n’ Roll. Tinged in country twang, their music ranges from brooding power ballads to punchy pub rock, all while maintaining one foot firmly on the gas. Featuring a driving rhythm section, colloquial storytelling and soaring, overdriven guitars (three of ‘em in fact), the six piece play a powerful brand of rock’n’roll that's the perfect soundtrack for Friday knock-off. Each Friday in August The Brakes will be rockin’ the Gem, with support from some of Melbourne’s finest rock’n’roll and country bands. They will be playing hits from their debut 7” single release “Brand New Daddy/Dice God” (2023 via Legless Records), and previewing songs from their forthcoming full length offering (to be released later in 2024).
